Postcards

The postcard is René Magritte’s Le Banquet (1966). The forest sunset reminds me of both an Estonian and Japanese flag - the tricolor of sky, tree, snow and the sun. It is a stunning piece that depicts the stillness of nature.

I don’t have any talent in art (I failed my art class in primary school), so I always admire those who have a talent in painting and drawing. This postcard is painted by a fellow postcrosser.

This is my first U.S. postcrossing stamp - triangular shape and colorful. Today I learnt that Punxsutawney has a lot of fun Groundhog statues because of the Goundhog day. According to Wikipedia, if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on Goundhog day (February 2) and sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den and winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early

I passed by Åland a few times when I took the cruise between Tallinn and Stockholm. I always wonder what it looks like and now I’ve got a postcard from Åland.

Sanrio is my childhood memory and I really like how they have the Sanrio characters having fun in the Japanese street market and festival.

This is my first postcard received from postcrossing! :D
